Favourite Nail Varnishes For Autumn

Autumn is a great season for experimenting with darker colours as all the autumnal coloured, warm jumpers are back out in shops and in our wardrobes. I don’t generally enjoy painting my nails but feel great once I have. In today’s post, I have decided to share with you some of my favourite nail varnishes for the autumn months.

Firstly, can you ever go wrong with a red varnish in autumn and winter? I love wearing red nail varnish as it is one of the main colours of the season and is a staple colour for many of the leaves on trees. Plus, I wear quite a lot of red so these varnishes go perfectly. The first shade is by O.P.I and is in the shade ‘The Thrill Of Brazil’, although O.P.I varnishes are slightly more expensive, they are very long lasting and only takes a few coats to have a strong colour. Another red shade which I love is by Maybelline and it is the Color Show varnish in ‘Wine Shimmer’, this is great when you want something a little more fancy as it has got silver glitter in it. This comes out really well on the nail and it a lot more glittery than I expected it would be!

Grey is also a colour that I wear a lot of in the colder months as it can go with so many different outfits and accessories. When I was on holiday I picked up a Sephora nail varnish in the shade ‘Elegant Grey’. This varnish has amazing pigmentation and is also very long lasting, it is quite a dark grey so stands out which I really like. Another grey/silver shade which I love is by W.I.P but I bought it from Urban Outfitters, unfortunately it doesn’t have a shade name so hopefully you can tell from the picture. This varnish is a light grey and has silver glitter in it, it is such a lovely shade and looks amazing on the nails. It only takes one to two coats of this to make it really stand out. I love this so much that I have almost ran out of it so am definitely going to be picking up another one very soon.

I love a good neutral nail varnish and wear them constantly throughout the year. The ones which I have been using this autumn are the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in ‘Peanut Butter’ and the Collection 7 Day Wear in the shade ‘Suede’. I love many of the Barry M Gelly range but this one has to be a favourite of mine, although it is neutral, it is noticeable and is sometimes nice to have something less intense or dark. This has good pigmentation and takes about two coats to look good. The Collection varnish was the first I have ever tried by the brand and I am very impressed, it does last almost 7 days, has great pigmentation and is a gorgeous neutral brown shade. This is another which I am very low on so will definitely be re-purchasing!

My final favourite nail varnish for this autumn is from the Models Own Colour Chrome range and is in the shade ‘Rose’. This is very different for me as I normally wouldn’t wear something this noticeable but I am obsessed with it. It is a gorgeous rose gold shade which only needs a few coats before looking great. The only downfall with this varnish is that you need to shake it quite a lot or it comes out quite streaky with different tones of gold. I love how unique this shade is and I’ve never tried anything like it, I have a few others from the range which are also great but I am saving those for future seasons.
