Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette Review

In the Black Friday sales, I came across the Zoeva Caramel Melange eye shadow palette on Beauty Bay and it was reduced to £14 from £18 so I had to get it! Before owning this palette, I had never tried any products from Zoeva but had heard many great reviews so had high expectations. In this post, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on the palette and showing you some of the looks that I have created using it!

Firstly, how gorgeous is this packaging? I love anything gold so it instantly brought my attention to the palette. The palette comes inside a sleeve which also has the same design and it contains some information about the palette such as the ingredients.

This palette contains 10 different shades which are all warm toned. I own many warm toned palettes, but this is so different from any I have previously tried. The shadows all work really well together and the shades make it so easy to create a full look with. Before owning this palette, I had struggled finding a brown-red shade which I liked but this one comes with 3 variations of this.

The first shade in the palette is ‘Wax Paper’, it is a plain and simple white which has great pigment and is so useful to set down any eye shadow primer or concealer on your eyes.

The second shade is called ‘Universal Delight’ and I’m obsessed with it. It is a light toned brown which works really well as a transition shade in the crease but I have also used it for the inner half of my lid which looked really nice.

The next shade is called ‘Aftertaste’ , this shade is a brown toned red/orange. It has amazing pigmentation and really impressed me. I’ve always found it hard to find a red shade which I’m comfortable to use and this one blends out so nicely that it is not too in your face which I really like.

The next shade is called ‘182°c’ and is a gorgeous orange toned shimmer. When I first used this shade, I was amazed. The pigmentation is great when using your finger or a brush. It also had very little fallout and lasted on my eyes for hours, very impressive! The glitter particles in this are quite small so you also get a lot of the orange which I really like.

The next shade along is called ‘Liquid Centre’ which is also a shimmer but it is a mix of red and gold tones. This shimmer has bigger glitter particles so stands out a bit better than the previous shimmer spoken about, however, with this shade I did notice slightly more fallout because of the bigger particles.

The shade which is first in the second row is called ‘Alchemy’ and is a beautiful brown toned red which I love. This shade has great pigmentation and blends out so well. It is also very different from colours I have in other palettes which is great as I hate when all palettes are the same as then you can only create the same look over and over again.

Next from this palette is ‘Start Soft’, this is also a brown toned red but is slightly more on the orangey side so is slightly darker than ‘Alchemy’. These 2 shades work hand in hand with one another and I love the look that they create. This also has great pigment and I didn’t notice any fallout when using it.

The next shadow is called ‘Finish Sensual’ and is a medium brown shade. This works really well in the crease and adds so much depth to the look. It blends out really well and goes amazingly will all of the other shades in the palette.

Along from this we have ‘Almost Burnt’ which is a light toned gold shimmer. This shimmer also has quite small particles which I like because you also get a good pigmentation of the gold colour. It doesn’t have much fall out at all and can really add the final touches to any look.

Finally, the last shade is ‘Edible Gem’ which is a dark purple shimmer shade. When I got this palette I instantly assumed that I wouldn’t like this shade as I don’t usually do for something quite this dark, however, I still gave it a try and was really impressed! I used it on the outer corner and it added so much depth to the look. I can’t see myself using this shade a lot but it is a lovely shimmer which has good pigmentation and blends out very well.

Below is an example of a look that I created using this palette when going out for a party this other day.

Sorry for the really bad quality. This was taken on my phone. Hopefully you can still see the eye shadow look which I created.

To create this look, I started off by priming my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. I then took the shade ‘Wax Paper’ all over my lid to set  this in to place and ensure that it wasn’t going to move around. I then took the shade ‘Universal Delight’ on a large fluffy brush and applied it through my crease. I wanted to then make my crease slightly darker so used ‘Finish Sensual’ on a large brush also through my crease. These 2 shadows blended really well together and I loved the look they created. I then took a mix of ‘Alchemy’ and ‘Start Soft’ on a smaller brush and applied this to my outer lid to add in some more colour and depth. Finally, I then took ‘Universal Delight’ again but on a smaller brush and applied this to the inner portion of my lid to brighten it up more. I’m really pleased with how this look turned out and it lasted all night.

Unfortunately, I did not take pictures when using the shimmer shades but let me know if you want to see some in the future as I can add them to the end of this post or put them on Twitter/Instagram.

To find this palette on Beauty Bay click here. I would definitely recommend checking it out as I’m sure you will be just as impressed as I am. I’m now very excited to try out more products from Zoeva as I honestly believe that this palette is better than all of the Naked palettes that I own and is quite a lot cheaper than them!

Thank you so much for reading! I really hope that you enjoyed this post as I loved trying out this palette and writing this review. If you would like to follow me on Instagram or Twitter you can find me at @bethxkate.
