January Favourites 2018

This month I have found many new favourites which I have decided to share with you today incase you are in need of some inspiration on new products to try out! This post will feature many kinds of products from stationary, to makeup, to hair care…

My first favourite of this month is my One Line A Day book which one of my friends got me for Christmas, I love the concept of this book and it will be great to look at in the future. In this book, you write a one sentence summarising your day, everyday and the book lasts for 5 years. I can’t wait to see what this will look like once its fully completed when I will be 22!

My next 2 favourites are my 2018 Diary and my Notes, Ideas, Plans book. I also got both of these for Christmas and they have been keeping me so organised throughout January. I love using these to plan out blog posts and school work as I know that all important details will be within these books.

Half way through January, I ran out of my Revlon Colorstay Foundation and decided it was time to try something new. I asked on Twitter is anyone had any recommendations for a good foundation for oily skin and was recommended the Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation. I have been loving this so much and have used it every day since getting it, if you have oily skin like me then you will love this and its only £10!

Another Christmas present which I have been using loads throughout January is the Beauty Blender. I was so excited when receiving this because I had seen so many great reviews and I wanted to see how much it differed to the Real Techniques Sponge. This expands so much when dampened and isn’t dense at all which makes your foundation so much easier to blend. These can be quite pricey but I have seen some on Amazon which are £12-£16 so if you want one, check there first!

A shampoo which I have been loving throughout January is The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo, this has worked wonders for my hair and I can definitely see myself continuing to use this for months to come. At first, I thought that the scent wouldn’t be nice but it actually has quite a neutral scent which can’t be smelt once it has all been washed out.

You may have seen that a while ago, I uploaded a post all about the Vitamin E Skincare Range from The Body Shop, I received more of the range for Christmas and have been using it non-stop. The eye cream is definitely one of my favourites from the range as it makes your eyes feel so much lighter and awake. If you would like to see a full review of some of the range click the link above.

Another January favourite that I got for Christmas is the Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I have wanted this for the longest time after having many sample sizes and am so glad that I’ve finally got it. I love how lengthening it is, it is very lengthening and is great as separating your lashes. I can definitely see myself re-purchasing this after I have used it up, it is definitely worth the money.

If you haven’t seen the fave on social media about The Greatest Showman then you must have been living under a rock. I went to see the film at the beginning of January and loved it so much that I had to go back and see it again. Ever since, I have been listening to the soundtrack on Spotify! If you are yet to see the film, then you definitely should, its worth the hype in my opinion!

Another makeup favourite throughout January has been the Tartlette In Bloom eye shadow palette. I had wanted this since it came out and finally got it this Christmas! I have been getting so much use out of it as the colours go well with so many looks. I will be posting a full, in-depth review very soon including some of the looks I have created.

My final favourite for the month of January is The Band Musical. I went to see this in the Welsh Millennium Centre for my birthday (the 19th) and loved it so much, it was a great way to end my birthday! The tour is currently still travelling and it goes in to 2019 so make sure to check out this website to see if its coming near you, if it is then I definitely recommend that you go. To sum the story up without giving it all away, the musical follows the life of 4 young girls and you see them grow up with ‘The Band’ who represent  Take That.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope that you have all had a great January. Let me know some of your favourites for this month if you have any! If you’d like to follow me on Instagram or Twitter you can find me at @bethxkate.

  1. That Tarte palette looks beautiful and I love the idea of that sentence a day book, I’ll be looking into getting myself one of those! I had the Vitamin E moisturiser from The Body Shop but it made me breakout so I had to throw it away, I was gutted though because it was such a good product! I love the tea tree range from there though and I’ve heard really good things about that foundation so I might have to give it a go!

    1. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I’d definitely recommend getting one of the books, I look forward to filling it out everyday and it’s a great way to look back on your year after it’s done! Oh no way that’s awful, it’s helped my skin so much. I’ve also heard great stuff about the Tea Tree range and am looking into trying some of it out!
