Blogger Box Swap with Ellie

As you may have seen in the past, me and Ellie from thediaryofellie.com have collaborated on blog posts and as we have become such good friends, we decided to do a blogger box swap where we set a limit of £15 (which we both went over) and we each got to pick out a few options for one another to try out, we also set the criteria that ideally, the products would be cruelty free. I was so excited to do this post as I have never done anything like it before and love buying for other people! If you want to see Ellie’s version of this post where she opens up my parcel to her then click here (and don’t forget to follow her).

Firstly when opening the parcel, I saw three wrapped products and I was so excited to open them up to see what she had chosen for me. The first one that I opened contained the IHEARTMAKEUP Unicorn Heart Highlighter. I have seen many people in the past have very good reviews on this and it was especially popular when the unicorn-craze came around, however, I had never tried out a unicorn/rainbow highlight because I expected it to come out a really strong colour rather than giving off the desired glow. After trying and testing it out, my opinion has completely changed, instead of giving off a specific colour, they all mix together and create a gorgeous shimmer on the face which I love and it will come in especially handy over these next summer months as I have a lot of concerts that I am excited to wear it to!

The next product that I opened, I was so excited about and never expected that Ellie would get me. It was the Revolution X Soph Does Nails eye shadow palette. I’ve seen so many people rave about this in the past and was desperate to try it but it always seemed to be out of stock in my local Superdrug, I’m also a fan of Soph and love all of the looks which she has created using it. The palette contains 24 different shadows with a various shade range and a massive, good quality mirror which is perfect when you are on the go. The pigmentation of all of the shades that I have tried so far has been amazing, it has the perfect balance of shimmers and mattes and overall, it is so versatile, I can definitely see myself using this and travelling with it a lot over the next year as it is fitting for every season!

The final product that I opened was another item that I have never tried before, it was the MUA Pro-Base eye primer. I had seen Ellie talking about this on her blog before and had intended on buying it for a very long time as I am yet to find an eye primer which works well for me so was excited to try it out. I used it for the Big Weekend festival which I went to on the 26th of May and was very impressed. It applies and blends really nicely which creates the perfect base for eye shadow and the shadows also applied really well on top of it. My eye makeup lasted most of the day which was very impressive because my skin was very oily but by the end of the day I did see a decrease in how my eye shadow looked (which was understandable as it had been on for hours)!
