As Halloween is quickly approaching, me and Ellie from TheDiaryofEllie decided to collaborate on a post where we each do a Halloween inspired makeup look. For my look I went with a pumpkin theme as I own a lot of orange eye shadows but don’t use them as much as I would like to. Remember to check out Ellie’s version of this post also by clicking here, her blog is amazing and I can’t wait to see the look that she comes up with.
For the base of my makeup look, I did my everyday look with all of my usual products which include The Body Shop’s Matte Clay foundation, the Revolution Conceal and Define concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, the Collection setting powder (transparent), the Revolution Ultra Bronze, the Zoeva Brow Gel and finally, the IHEARTMAKEUP highlighter in Goddess of Love. I did my basic makeup as I knew that the look I was going for was going to mainly be focused on the eyes and lips as you will see below.
For my eye shadow, I started off by using the MUA Eye Primer which Ellie actually gifted me when we did our beauty box swap! I’m obsessed with this, it creates a perfect base and keeps my eye shadow set for hours after applying it.
I then used a combination of the Soph X Revolution palette and the Morphe 35O to create my eye look. I started with the Soph palette and used a mix of the light brown and neutral shades to create a base. I then took some of the darker / medium browns and started to blend this through my outer crease. Then, from the 35O, I took all 3 bright orange shades from the right hand side and blended this through my crease and the outer proportions of my eyelid. I instantly loved how this looked becuase the pigmentation of the orange came through so well. As it was very orange toned by this point, I wanted to darken it up slightly so used some of the red toned browns (also from the 35O) and put them on my outer corner.
To finish off the look, I took some MAC fix plus (which I know isn’t cruelty free, but I’m using it up) on to a dense brush, then took one of the gold-orange shimmer shades from the 35O and packed it on to my inner corner. As for mascara, I used the Urban Decay Perversion mascara as this gives a falsies affect.
Finally, for lipstick, I used one of the new PIXI Liquid Lipsticks in the shade Au Naturelle, if you saw my previous post then you will know that I love this and you can read the full review on the collection by clicking here. The shade went perfectly because it is an orangey toned pink nude so when it had set, it really finished off the look.
Here are some pictures of my finished look:
Please ignore how overgrown my eyebrows look in the second image, not long after doing this look did I sort them out! Also, my camera didn’t do a great job at picking up the pigmentation of the glitter shade unfortunately but I loved how it looked in person.
Thank you to Ellie for collabing on this post with me. Once again, please make sure to check out her blog and her version of this post!
