My Top 5 Holiday Destinations

I love travelling and it is something which I wish I could do more (if it wasn’t for all of the costs that come along with it). I am in no way a travel blogger and my only travel themed posts are travel diaries which I always enjoy writing and picking my image for but never take further so thought I would today.

For this post, I will be ranking my top 5 holiday destinations that I have visited. I am super grateful for all of the trips that I have been on but there are a few that I will never forget.

In 5th place would have to be Rome in Italy, I loved exploring Rome. There were so many different activities to do, the food was amazing (you can’gt beat a good pizza) and the places we visited were amazing. In Rome, me and my family did the typical tourist, open bus tour, this showed us so much and meant that we could get off at many different stops to explore throughout the day. Rome was also great for photography as it had stunning buildings and we had amazing weather on our stay which is expected in August.

In 4th place would be Cologne in Germany, I have been lucky enough to visit twice to the Christmas markets within December and both times have been amazing! I went once with school and once with my family, I preferred visiting with my family as there was more freedom and we crammed in as much as we could in to the days we were there. I would absolutely love to go back and this also makes me want to explore other Christmas markets! Sadly, I wasn’t as in to photography then as I am now but here is a picture from my 2012 trip on my very old camera of some weirdly shaped buildings in Germany near the Christmas markets!

In 3rd place is Venice in Italy.. as you can probably tell, I really liked Italy. Venice was a stunning city with gorgeous buildings and so many photography opportunities. I would have loved to go on a gondola and experimented more with the food I ate (as I basically stuck to pizza and pasta) but being there just felt like an unreal experience. The only down side to Venice was that it was quite busy and as the streets can be quite thin, it sometimes feels overcrowded. Here is one of my favourite pictures that I took in Venice, it was down a little alleyway where there was a small hotel.

If you know me then you have got to expect my 2nd choice which is Orlando, Florida. I love love love Florida for so many reasons. Of course, Disneyland is amazing but there’s so much more to it (but don’t get me wrong, I love Disney). Me and my family enjoy visiting the beaches which are usually about on hour away from where we stay, we also take advantage of the huge shopping malls and outlets and take time to relax and enjoy all of the amazing food! We also enjoy walking around Celebration which is an area in Florida reasonably near to Disney. It is a gorgeous place filled with classic american houses and a lake to walk around, the photo below was taken here.

Finally, my number 1 holiday destination would have to be Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m lucky enough to have visited 3 times which many people don’t understand as they see it as a one time holiday but me and my family never get bored and always find more to do. If you hire a car then this gives you the chance to visit the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon which isn’t too far of a drive. There’s also so much to do whether it be the open top bus or an activity within the hotels. Something that we did on our 2018 trip was glow in the dark mini golf which we had never tried before and we all enjoyed. If you ever get the chance, go! It is not just a place for adults to go on hen or stag do’s, as a 17 year old, I really appreciate it as a place and everything it has to offer. Of course, I’d love to be able to experience the night clubs and pool parties but there’s so much more! This picture was taken outside of our hotel (the MGM Grand), you can also see the New York, New York hotel in the background which has got the roller coaster on it!

I really hope that you enjoyed this post as it is slightly different for me! Let me know your top holiday destination in the comments below.
