Winter Skincare Must-Haves #gifted

Winter is always the time of the year that my skin doesn’t enjoy, I’m used to having really oily skin and having to re-powder throughout the day. However, in Winter, my skin is the complete opposite, it is really dry and sometimes flaky which I hate!! In this post I will be talking through the products that have helped my skin throughout this period and showing you my winter skincare routine.

2 of the products mentioned in this post go hand-in-hand with the PMD Clean that I was recently sent to review from the lovely Harlen Leonard. The PMD Clean is a ‘smart facial cleansing device’ which helps for the products to absorb in to your skin and to ensure a really good cleanse. I have been testing this product for a while to see if I could tell the difference when using it and when not.

One of the products that this works really well with is The Body Shop facial wash from the vitamin E range. I have loved this for ages and you may have seen it mentioned in a previous post of mine when I reviewed some of the products from the range. This, mixed with the PMD Clean, absorbs really well in to your skin and fully gets all of your face makeup off which is amazing and so quick and easy. When using the product alone, I found that it didn’t absorb in to my skin very well, it just felt very heavy on my skin and didn’t take my makeup off too well.

Another product that this works well with, is the PIXI Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask, which PIXI kindly gifted me. I recommend this product to only be used around once a week as it works best when you have breaks from it. I have had amazing results from this, you apply it on to your face and it lathers almost instantly, when using it with the PMD Clean, it really gets in to your pores and the areas that you can’t reach when using your hands to rub it in. The Glow Mask makes your skin feel so smooth, refreshed and awake, it has really helped my dry skin over the past few weeks! Definitely recommend this product!

The final product that has helped my skin throughout the colder months is the PIXI Glow Tonic which they also gifted me. I had seen so many great reviews of this online so was desperate to try it. I use a small amount of this on a cotton pad and rub it all over my face. It definitely lives up to its name as my skin feels so refreshed and awake after using it. This isn’t the best toner for removing makeup as that isn’t its main priority so I tend to use a face wash like the Body Shop one mentioned above before applying this.

My moisturisers never change as I stick to ones that I know won’t irritate my skin (as many have). I tend to switch between the Body Shop one in the Vitamin E range and the Clean and Clear one all year round as they work best for me.

Overall, I would say that the PMD Clean makes a difference in my skincare routine, although it doesn’t affect the dryness of my skin in the colder months, it definitely does reduce spots and makes my skin feel so much cleaner! The PMD Clean can be found here and it retails for £89. It comes in 5 colours and the packing is really nice! I went for the light pink one with the rose gold detail on the bottom as these are some of my favourite colours.

Thanks to Harlen Leonard for sending me this to review! Although some products within this post were sent to me, all reviews are my own and this post in not sponsored by Helen Leonard or PIXI.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know some of your skincare favourites in the comments:) If you’d like to follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you can find me at @bethxkate.
